So, it’s been exactly 11 months since my last post and I’m a terrible person for up and abandoning my blog for so long. It’s literally malnourished due to my complete neglect and I promise to be much better moving forward. So much has happened in the passed 11 months so I’ll try to keep this post short and the following posts recurring more often.
Tonight I sit on my bed, Netflix-ing “Bob’s Burgers” for, what perhaps could be the twentieth time and drinking wine after shoving Japanese pan noodles into my mouth mid wine buzz. Why am I wine buzzed? Welp, lil old me has been with a new fella for the past 11 months and 6 days. This guy is wonderful and fantastic and the best fella I could have ever asked for. We maybe spend too much time together, but we don’t care because we should also be like best friends. In future posts I’ll expand upon some of our adventures we’ve had together. So, anyhoo, Heather is wine buzzed this evening because she has to spend an entire 8 days without her love and she’s BORED! So bored she’s chosen to write in third person.
Yeah, so maybe I’ve neglected enjoying time with my friends lately, besides my friends I run with on Monday nights. So now I sit at home, while two of my three roommates are off on date nights with their beaus (roommate three is working in the UK for a few months). I have the option of trying to meet up with some friends I haven’t hung out with in many moons, but I’m just not motivated to do so. Who wants to go out when the weather is wonderful! So, before my roommates went out, we were sitting around and I found a bottle of wine I opened and forgot to finish. Let’s all be completely honest with ourselves and admit that it’s unacceptable to have an unfinished bottle of wine in the house.
Of course I popped that baby back open and threw it down that hatch. As my beau will attest to, I am NOT a big drinker. Two glasses in and I’m stumbling down the street for some Japanese pan noodles and taking a selfie video of me swaying to Lana del Rey’s “Ultraviolence” at a Noodles & Company (I only wish I looked as naturally classy and beautiful as Olivia Pope). Now in the safety of my own bedroom, I can easily say, “Kids! Drink just a teensy bit more to have a decent tolerance and make time to be with your friends so you’re not bored and wine buzzed at 7:00 on a Saturday night.” Cheers.
P.S. The Three Wishes Cabernet Sauvignon at Whole Foods is usually $3 a bottle and quite good! Who says you can’t have a nice bottle of wine on the cheap! If you’re more of a picky Polly, check out this site I came across the other day! It’s called Bright Cellers. There’s a whole wine quiz and everything! I’m excited to try out some of the bottles my results pulled up.
